I honestly am not sure how to even summarize this week's session. Suffice to say that it was a fairly deep discussion that you'll likely need to listen to a few times. The overall topics discussed were:
- The Afterlife
If you've ever wondered what any of these subjects were really about, this session is sure to give you some new stuff to think through. Perhaps the best way to hint towards what this session covers is to share some of the verses that were specifically addressed.
Otherwise, He would have needed to suffer often since the foundation of the world; but now once at the consummation of the ages He has been manifested to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself. 27And inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment, 28so Christ also, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time for salvation without reference to sin, to those who eagerly await Him.
1 Pet. 3:18-20
For Christ also died for sins once for all, the just for the unjust, so that He might bring us to God, having been put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit; 19in which also He went and made proclamation to the spirits now in prison, 20who once were disobedient, when the patience of God kept waiting in the days of Noah, during the construction of the ark, in which a few, that is, eight persons, were brought safely through the water.
I Cor. 15:29
Otherwise, what will those do who are baptized for the dead? If the dead are not raised at all, why then are they baptized for them?
